*All Kimonos are vintage which means they are not new. A handmade kimono can be over 150 years old, making it impossible to be spotless. A kimono can have an overall pattern of spots on the inside from moisture in the air. Water and silk are not good friends so to speak, and that is why you are advised to never wash your kimono but bring it to the dry cleaner. We select all kimonos with utmost love and care so only the best pieces are in our Collections. We categorised them into 3 groups:
- Excellent: almost spotless and in a very good condition,
- Very Good: you may find some water stains or discolored silk, which, however, are not easily noticeable, as they hide well in between colorful patterns. It is in a good condition and has no rips or tears.
- Good: you may find some water stain, spot, or discoloring which is more visible, however, still not easily noticeable. All Antique, Wearable Art Kimonos, which are more than 100 years old, with the water stain pattern inside fall under this category. All 3 categories were treated with anti-moth protection.
